The holiday season is just around the corner. These few weeks leading up to the holidays can be stressful for students and teachers, with tests, grades and holiday travel.

Military families face a unique set of needs, especially during the holiday season. While many of us get to see our family members on a regular basis, military families are often separated due to deployments or separated from extended family due to relocation. Additionally, veterans returning from active duty face a unique set of physical and emotional needs as they reintegrate back into civilian life.

Kids across the country are getting ready for Halloween! This day is filled with laughter, mountains of candy and, of course, fun and creative costumes. This time of year is also a great opportunity to give back to the community by bringing clubs members together to plan a service project. Here are some fun ideas on how to incorporate service into your trick-or-treating plans.

Recently, generationOn had the opportunity to celebrate International Peace Day at the United Nations. International Peace Day is defined by the UN as "a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples." It is a day of recognition, remembrance, and acceptance, but it is also a day to create ideas on what actions need to be taken to achieve world peace.

generationOn's Clubs network has been busy this year! Between having an active role in our campaigns, engaging their schools and networks, and completing our annual survey, these kids and teens still had time to complete 2,023 projects and spend 1.8 million hours volunteering in their communities! That's equivalent to over 205 years of service!

"No one should have to feel insignificant" says Anjana Murali, one of generationOn's Kindness Ambassadors. "I believe that it only takes on person to make a positive difference in someone's life."
