GenerationOn and Service in Schools, a joint initiative of the NYC Department of Education and NYC Service, hosted the 2014 NYC Youth Service Summit to inspire, equip, and mobilize students in New York City to effect positive change in their world. The summit was held on Tuesday, May 27th at St. Francis College in Brooklyn.

On Memorial Day, our nation comes together to honor those servicemen and women who've made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It's a chance to celebrate all those who serve, both past and present, protecting our nation's interests both at home and abroad. It's also an opportunity for us to do our part to give back to active duty military members, veterans and their families.

Summer vacation just around the corner?! Now is a perfect time to jump into volunteer projects with your friends! You can do something to help out your local school community or you can help others living far away.
