With graduated ventures mobilizing over 150,000 individuals to drive change, the Points of Light Civic Accelerator is designing a program that will convene the most innovative ventures across the country focused around one common challenge:

GenerationOn and Service in Schools, a joint initiative of the NYC Department of Education and NYC Service, hosted the 2014 NYC Youth Service Summit to inspire, equip, and mobilize students in New York City to effect positive change in their world. The summit was held on Tuesday, May 27th at St. Francis College in Brooklyn.

On Memorial Day, our nation comes together to honor those servicemen and women who've made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It's a chance to celebrate all those who serve, both past and present, protecting our nation's interests both at home and abroad. It's also an opportunity for us to do our part to give back to active duty military members, veterans and their families.

Summer vacation just around the corner?! Now is a perfect time to jump into volunteer projects with your friends! You can do something to help out your local school community or you can help others living far away. You can help keep your parks and playgrounds clean and safe or you can help animals looking for new homes. Big or small, It's totally up to you!

Though we can never completely predict the timing and outcome of a natural disaster, we can take action to be as prepared as possible if and when a disaster strikes.
