Give Back as a Family this Father’s Day

Not sure what to get your dad for Father's Day? Give him the gift of family time by getting together to volunteer in your community! If you're not sure how to get started, we have plenty of projects that only take a short amount of time but make a big difference:

Deliver meals to home-bound seniors. Volunteering with Meals on Wheels is a great way for your family to give back to and connect with seniors in your community. Make their meals even more special by designing personalized cards to brighten their day!

Make the switch to reusable bags. Keep plastic out of the garbage (and the environment) by making reusable tote bags for your family and the community! Decorate your bags with beautiful designs and contact your local grocery store to see if they'll give them out to customers.

Create a watering hole for local animals. Depending on where you live, finding a clean water source to drink from can be hard for birds, reptiles and butterflies. Build a birdbath or other water source to help these animals to survive.

Decorate cards for people dealing with loss or serving abroad. Sending messages of love and support is one of the easiest ways to show someone you care. Write supportive messages in cards to deliver to people who are going through a tragedy, or those who are serving our country abroad!

Keep your house clean the natural way. Help your family keep toxic chemicals out of the house by making your own household cleaner! You only need a few ingredients to make a nontoxic cleaner that you can use for all of the messes around the house.

Bring a shelter animal out for a walk. Grab an "adopt me vest" and take a shelter animal on your family stroll! Getting dogs out for a walk not only gets them exercise, but being around different people helps socialize them and get them ready to go to their forever home.
